Margaret de Heinrich
Recently, I met with Margaret in London. Over a delicious breakfast, I talked to the elegant entrepreneur about her company, her everyday beauty routine, and her favorite spots in London.
About 200 years ago, Stephen Omorovicza’s family built a beautiful Racz spa in Budapest, using Hungary’s healing thermal waters to rejuvenate people’s skin. Two centuries later, Stephen met Margaret in the same city and immediately bonded over their mutual passion for this magical water.
After they married, they decided to harness the powers of Hungary’s mineral-rich thermal waters. They launched their company, Omorovicza, in 2006 and, with a little bit of help from a Hungarian Nobel prize-winning laboratory, the two were able to create products that could effectively transfer the minerals from the healing waters of Budapest to those wishing for suppler, younger-looking skin.

BWB: What inspired you and your husband to create Omorovicza?
Stephen and I were blown away by the effects Budapest’s healing waters had on us. Coupled with Stephen’s family connection to a renowned water source it inspired us into dreaming of this exciting adventure we now find ourselves on with Omorovicza.
We worked with the Nobel Prize winning Laboratory of Dermatology, famous for its’ discovery of Vitamin C, to patent a process whereby we make this mineral rich water highly anti-aging.
BWB: For our readers discovering your beautiful skincare line, could you tell us more about the ingredients used?
The principle ingredient in all our products, which is anywhere between 60-80% of each product, is a mineral-rich healing water. We worked with the Nobel Prize winning Laboratory of Dermatology, famous for its’ discovery of Vitamin C, to patent a process whereby we make this mineral rich water highly anti-aging. In addition we include the most effective anti-aging ingredients like retinol and Vitamin C of course. We also exclude most synthetic ingredients like Sodium Laureth Sulfates, Parabens, Petrochemicals, synthetic colors and fragrances, and most others.
I am religious about cleansing and masks. I start the day using our Thermal Cleansing Balm – a black cleanser that uses medical grade mud and smells of orange blossom.
BWB: What is your Beauty routine like? Any tips for a flawless skin?
My skin is quite tricky, especially as I just had a baby so no day in the life of my complexion seems to be like another…I am religious about cleansing and masks. I start the day using our Thermal Cleansing Balm – a black cleanser that uses medical grade mud and smells of orange blossom. It removes absolutely everything and using it is like 2 cleansers in 1…the sweet almond oil helps break up impurities, remove make up etc and then mud further cleanses and also detoxifies the skin. I like using masks, in particular ones which exfoliate like our Copper Peel or Refining Facial Polisher, as nothing creates a luminous complexion quicker than polished skin.
For those with more mature skin, I would go with either the Gold Night Drops, with retinol to work on lines and wrinkles or our Blue Diamond Concentrate, which works to ‘reawaken’ tired skincells for improved skin fitness and vitality.
BWB: With Spring around the corner, what products would you recommend to our readers with first signs of aging – and to our readers with more mature skin?
I am a huge believer in switching up your skincare routine as seasons change… why use the same product in the dead of winter as you would when it is 100 degrees outside? If I were to recommend just one product to someone looking to combat the first signs of aging, it would definitely be our Rejuvenating Night Cream. It is difficult to explain how amazing this product is…if I could bath in it, I would. I am a bit cheeky and use it in the day as well – a miracle worker. For those with more mature skin, I would go with either the Gold Night Drops, with retinol to work on lines and wrinkles or our Blue Diamond Concentrate, which works to ‘reawaken’ tired skincells for improved skin fitness and vitality.
BWB: What products do you always carry with you when you travel?
I do tend to switch things up depending on where I am going but these days, have our Rejuvenating Night Cream, Omoressence, and Miracle Facial Oil.
BWB: What are your go-to makeup products? any favorite brands?
I absolutely love makeup though oddly enough, do not wear much. I tend to have dozens of lipsticks in the same shade…These days, loving Nars in Afghan Red and YSL Kiss and Blush in Coral Affranchi. I use our concealers and BB Cream which gives me SPF protection.
BWB: You now live in London with your husband and four children. Can you share with us some of the places you love the most?
We are big fans of London museums and there are loads of great programs for children like the magic carpet story telling at the National Gallery.
I am a huge foodie having been to cooking school myself. Some favorite spots St Johns in Clerkenwell, Bocca de Lupo, Moro, the off beat Japanese spot in Marylebone called Dinings. A spot called Portland another spot called Ceviche – which is fun, noisy Peruvian. Our all time favorite is the River Café.
Walking up and down Mount Street is quite fun as well to check out the best young fashion here in London like Christopher Kane, Roksanda, Erdem, Simone Rocha, etc.
