Juice Press with Marcus Antebi, founder and CEO

Recreational skydiver, semi-professional Thai boxer, rock climber and ultimate Frisbee player are just four of the titles that were attached to Marcus Antebi, founder and CEO of Juice Press.

Recreational skydiver, semi-professional Thai boxer, rock climber and ultimate frisbee player are just four of the titles that were attached to Marcus Antebi, founder and CEO of Juice Press, before he launched his business in 2010. The sheer energy with which he pursued such an active lifestyle now permeates his juices, and we can tell.

Having thrown himself into a number of sports, Marcus had no choice but to pay attention to the foods he ate. His need to drop weight quickly allowed him to discover the benefits of a plant-based, raw food diet. This new awareness laid the foundation for what was eventually to become Juice Press.

Marcus dives whole-heartedly into everything he does. Refusing to sacrifice even an ounce of quality, Juice Press yields juices with the “purest organic product” of the “widest selection” and from only the “best locations.”

Wanting to learn more, we sat down with Marcus to chat about his inspiration, his life and his plans for the future.

BWB: Other than consuming raw foods and drinks, what else defines your health and wellness routine?

I do excessive workouts, always pushing the training, or whatever it may be, to the limit!

We try to offer a diverse range of produce to make sure people have choices that fit their needs; some people may want more fruit while others want more greens.

BWB: How do you decide what to put in each juice? Which juices have been your most successful?

There is a combination of factors that go into creating a juice. First, we try to design formulas that satisfy people’s taste buds. Then, we try to offer a diverse range of produce to make sure people have choices that fit their needs; some people may want more fruit while others want more greens. After that, we design the formulas, and they are either a big hit or a big flop! If they flop, we try new ones until we get it perfect. Mother Earth and Gravity are two of our bestselling, predominantly green offerings.

BWB: This month is BWB’s special issue on sea and water; tell us a little bit about your blue-green algae-based E3 Live and what inspired its ingredients.

We are working on the next level inspiration for this type of produce. E3 Live is a super-food green algae that has a powerful shot of 65+ vitamins, minerals, amino acids and essential fatty acids. In theory, anything plant based from the ocean or lake is going to be teaming with nutrients, even more so than plants grown in soil, especially farm soil, which is often depleted of nutrients from over planting. For a dose of E3 Live try Gravity, Anti-Aging, and the E3Live shot.

Juice Press

BWB: With your business, is it difficult to stay involved with sports? Do you still prioritize exercise?

I 100% still prioritize athletics, especially in the summer months.

BWB: What have been your greatest challenges and, alternatively, your greatest success in your Juice Press Venture?

It has been a difficult and rewarding process as we strive to make Juice Press into a truly sustainable, scalable business so we can positively impact the wellness of millions of people.

Keep in mind that timing is everything. Work hard. You will need endurance!

BWB: Do you have any advice for entrepreneurs hoping to start their own businesses?

I recommend to just go ahead and start! Keep in mind that timing is everything. Work hard. You will need endurance!

We have a line of innovative waters coming out soon and snack/health food bars as well. Those products will be organic and best-in-class.

BWB: Do you have any new projects you can tell us about?

At Juice Press, we are constantly working on new projects. We have a great innovation team consisting of chefs and discerning consumers. Our dream is to impact millions of lives, and in order to do so we need to create products which meet price points that are approachable to millions while maintaining our feet high standards. We have a line of innovative waters coming out soon and snack/health food bars as well. Those products will be organic and best-in-class. We also want to build upon the success of our nutraceuticals (probiotics, vitamins C and D). Stay tuned!
