Ageless Beauty the French Way
In Ageless Beauty the French Way, Clémence weaves together three generations of wisdom, which she supplements with insider tips from top beauty experts in an easy-to-follow beauty guide.
BWB founder and Editor-in-Chief Clémence von Mueffling is releasing her new book, Ageless Beauty the French Way.
In her work, Clémence serves as the ultimate translator, revealing timeless French secrets to an American audience. She shares memories of a Parisian upbringing that imbued in her certain beauty-related values that she stands by to this day.
The daughter and granddaughter of two beauty editors for French Vogue, she grew up absorbing their wisdom and advice. Her mother sent her to summer camp with perfume and cream for stretch marks; her grandmother sent her and her sister dinner invitations detailing: ‘Rendezvous for dinner with some Rimmel mascara.’ She also remembers the boîte magique, or the magic box, that L’Oréal would send to her mother each Christmas when she was a girl. Clémence would take of the top to reveal a magical arrangement of fragrances, creams, and makeup products.

Women of every age will feel her book is especially tailored to them. Clémence shares both broad and age-specific advice catered towards Jeunesse (20-35), Plénitude (35-55), and Maturité (55+). She delivers unparalleled instruction on how to take care of your skin, hair, and body at any age.
Some key pieces of advice include: never over-exfoliate, and – my favorite – treat your skin like your favorite silk blouse. Would you subject that blouse to harsh scrubs and strong chemicals? Never.
Other notable tips from her book insist that the secret to great skin is double cleansing, and she outlines the necessary steps. Clémence aims to reorient her audience towards the kinder practice of French beauty rituals. She emphasizes that French women always try to look best for their age, and embrace where they are in life. After all “it is better to look your age than no age at all.”
French women like the idea of healthy skin, but it does not have to be flawless… In fact, for many of them, if perfect skin comes at the cost of cheese or a croissant at breakfast, or a nap on a sunny beach, they will settle for skin that is just good enough!
In Ageless Beauty the French Way, Clémence combines trend with tradition, delivering a refreshing collection of honest, effective guidance accessible to people of all ages, and from all backgrounds. Her book is available for order through Amazon.
