Best of the Best: nail salons & green juice shops in L.A.

There are two things I absolutely must have organic: A Spa mani-pedi and my cold-pressed green juice.

Luckily in L.A., I can have them both. When I moved go L.A. from New York, I was beyond thrilled with all my options! I spent my first few weeks driving along the coast of Malibu down to Venice. After some yoga, I ventured over to the east side Wanderlust Hollywood to scout out the best of the best nail salons and all-organic juice bars.

I scratched out all of the stinky, dingy nail salons that reek of toxic chemicals and clearly don’t sanitize their tools. I nixed all the juice bars that claim to be organic but had super shiny green apples and sad wilted kale.

Beverly Hills Nail Design
Beverly Hills Nail Design is known for their precision and quick service. As an added bonus, it’s also been known as a celebrity stomping ground. Get ready to grab some popcorn and enjoy the frequent sightings. Manis from $16

Côte
This luxury destination blends a California sensibility with a hint of France. I just about died when I saw the beautiful vibrant colors of their own exclusive blend of five-free polish. That, and they have 109 hand poured colors to choose from. A girl can get used to this.

Care to be spoiled by a fix of Parisienne chic? Caudalie has an outpost on Abbot-Kinney. They are offering their signature products that bring vinotherapy stateside. What on earth is vinotheraphy? It’s Caudalie’s brand of beauty products and spa services that use the antioxidant properties of the grape plant. Get in the know.

Interested in kicking your manicure up a notch? The Chi Nail Bar and Organic Spa have got you covered. Their nail artists will hook you up with a fun and glamorous experience. Plus, their large array of organic and non-toxic polishes will get you snap happy in a heartbeat.

Paint Shop
If rubbing elbows with the fashion crowd is more of your thing, Paint Shop is just what the doctor ordered. Try the $35 Revive 10 Manicure treatment and you will thank me later.

Alchemie Spa
Alchemie’s emphasis on providing conscious products is apparent in their vegan, non-toxic and organic options that keep your nails in tip top shape. Their obsession with cleanliness won me over; they never reuse buffers and have hospital quality sanitation. What most impressed me, though, was their guarantee that, if your polish chips within three days, they will touch it up for free.

Top notch service is what pops into my head when I recall Olive & June. The second time I stopped by they knew my favorite nailpolish color. Impressed does not begin to describe it.

Four Seasons, The Nail Bar
If you want a name brand experience- there is nothing quite like the Four Seasons. They offer nontoxic options but also include popular nailpolishes ranging from Essie to couture favorites including Chanel.

There’s so much to choose from in the L.A. mani’s scene. Throw caution to the wind and try them all. Great service is hard to find but with this solid lineup, you are bound to fall in love!
