A Weekend with Dancer Peta Murgatroyd

Join us below as we sit down with our favorite ballroom star, Dancing with the Stars champ, mom and tanning queen, Peta Murgatroyd.

As a professional dancer whose sun-kissed legs have graced televisions across America, Peta Murgatroyd knows a thing or two about self-tanning. In the world of ballroom dancing, tanning comes with the territory. In other words, a quality self-tanner is just as necessary as a pair of samba heels or a fringe skirt. After her own experiences with self-tanning, Peta wanted to create a product that provided solutions for common tanning conundrums. In addition to sashaying across the Dancing with the Stars stage and taking Broadway by storm, Peta launched her own self-tanning line

As a result, Peta Jane by South Sea features a powerhouse duo: tanning mousse & a silky bronzing mitt. While many tanning sprays might display orange on the skin, Peta Jane’s tanning mouse is a natural and buildable bronze. Since it comes in one shade, you can customize your application according to your desired tanning level. Further, the product takes just a few minutes to dry into the skin. So, there’s no need to worry about staining your clothes or waiting hours after applying the product. In fact, you can watch Peta demonstrate her magical product on our IG Live. But first, join us below as we sit down with our favorite ballroom star, Dancing with the Stars champ, mom and tanning queen, Peta Murgatroyd.

Weekend dinner plans?

One of our fave spots is Little Door on Third St. We are currently making sure our schedules are clear for us to get a date night in when we can!

Favorite homemade meal?

It would have to be my delicious whole lemon chicken. No matter who tries it, I always get rave reviews! It’s a clear favorite in our family, and I serve it with a fresh salad consisting of spinach, feta, tomatoes, radish and cucumber!

Saturday ritual?

I like to take my Saturdays rather easy, AKA a lazy morning! I always start with coffee, but lately I’ve been loving my green tea with collagen powder. Next, I turn on feel-good music to set good vibes, catch up on the weekend news, then it’s off to dance class with Shai. We usually end our Saturdays in the park and the sand pit!

Sunday run or relax?

Kind of both! We start early at 9 a.m. with Shai’s soccer class and then always end up in Malibu at the beach! The weekends are always family days.

Favorite ways to stay in shape?

For me… Dancing has always been the best workout for weight loss, but I have always kept my gym routine with a trainer to work on my strength, conditioning and alignment! Also, I love the pilates reformer for strength and toning!

Your everyday beauty routine?

I’m obsessed with SkinCeuticals. It’s a medical-grade skincare brand that has really helped even my skin tone and work on fine lines. I cleanse, exfoliate, apply a serum, followed by a heavy moisturizer. My skin is always dry, so I love heavy creams.

Go-to online stores for beauty and fashion?

Revolve and Joah Brown for clothes and shoes. Sephora for all things beauty.

Travel essentials for a weekend getaway?

Hat, sunscreen, and a big tote bag to hold everything for my family.

Favorite destinations for a long weekend?

Santa Barbara and Newport Beach!
