Paula Medeiros

Today we meet the beautiful Brazilian model to talk about the cities she loves, beauty and fashion.

Charming, passionate and a true beauty, Paula Medeiros is a beam of sun coming straight from São Paulo.
Discovered at a young age by a model scout, she waited to finish High School before signing with the prestigious Elite Model Management agency.
In a few, short years she has worked with major brands such as Dior, Lanvin, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana.
She has settled into New York and has taken her passion for fashion to the next level by receiving a bachelor degree in Fashion Marketing and Management.

Today we meet the beautiful Brazilian model to talk about the cities she loves, beauty and fashion.

BWB: Before settling in NY, you grew up in São Paulo, but as a model you also traveled to many other cities for work such as Paris, London, & Madrid.
Can you share some of your favorite memories from these cities with us?

Modeling gave me the opportunity to study history in its origin. In Europe, I traveled through time in incredible cities such as Pompeii.
I feel very connected to the nature. I remember when I was living in South Africa how amazing it was to hike Lion’s Head mountain in the middle of the week to watch both the sunset and moonrise. I also remember how special it was to visit the Cape of Good Hope. I could recall in grade school learning about the importance of the Cape of Good Hope to the discovery of my country.

When I am uptown, Bella Blue is my favorite neighborhood Italian spot.

BWB: Today you live in N.Y; what are you favorite places in the city:

to have lunch:
I love Ladurée in Soho for girl’s brunch. They have the most delicious, delicate macaroons and tea selection in the city.
For midtown power lunches, Armani Ristorante is my go to spot.  The menu is as deliciously understated and elegant as Armani’s signature clothing. And the food presentation is as the décor and room design.  Since its hidden away on the 6th floor of the Armani showroom on 5th Avenue, it’s usually never too crowded.

to have dinner with friends:
When I am uptown, Bella Blue is my favorite neighborhood Italian spot. Polo Restaurant is definitely a fun scene.
For trendy downtown spots, Dirty French in the East Village has a great mix of people and good energy with original cuisine.

BWB: What is your beauty routine?

I think that looking young and healthy is actually quite simple. And the easier it is, the more likely you are to follow your routine.
I take the advice of Dr. Jimmy Sung, who advocates a very simple routine: Gentle cleansing, followed by light moisturizer, and finally an application of custom blends of antioxidants and sunscreens. Several times a year, I get a signature facial from him as a “tune up”.

I love to get my nails done at home. I am obsessed with this company SpaBear. They come to your house for all kinds of treatments.

BWB: What do you do to de-stress:

I love to get my nails done at home. I am obsessed with this company SpaBear. They come to your house for all kinds of treatments so I can get pampered in the comfort of my own home.  I usually pair my manicure with a few other treatments they offer.

BWB: Have you recently discovered a new skin care or make-up brand that you love?

Yes, I love the revered Brazilian brand Granado.  It’s a company that I grew up with as my Mom used to buy their products. Created in 1870, the company began by creating remedies from plants, herbs and flowers native to Teresópolis, a mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro.

In addition to these medicinal products, Granado imported products from Europe and adapted their formulas to the standards and needs of Brazilians.  Granado was exclusively used by the royal family in Brazil. The products are known for high quality and natural ingredients.

I love pleated skirts with silky blouses. And a graphic tee with jeans and sneakers. Then you are ready to tackle any hectic New York City day.

BWB: You have an eye for fashion, what do you recommend for the holidays?

Second skin ankle or over the knee boots are a must have piece to the winter 2016.

A go-to outfit for the day:
I love pleated skirts with silky blouses. And a graphic tee with jeans and sneakers. Then you are ready to tackle any hectic New York City day.

The perfect casual-chic evening wear:
I feel that you can never go wrong with a fitted black dress and sexy high heels for the evening. Elegance and femininity are what I always aspire to.

What accessories:
I feel that accessories add personality to an outfit. Any simple outfit can be personalized with the right accessories to match any occasion. I love to wear delicate jewelry and lots of thin bracelets that contrast in color and style. However, I also love to wear one standout piece, such as a chunky necklace or large ring.

BWB: Any fun plans ahead for the Summer? Any favorite destination at this time of the year?

I have a couple of destination weddings lined up this summer in some exotic locations.
At the end of this month, I will go visit family in Spain and then on to Marrakech, Morocco for a wedding.
In August, I have more weddings in Ibiza and the South of France.  But I’m most excited about my own long overdue honeymoon which will be an African safari.
