How can we take advantage of this daily break from makeup?
It’s amazing to give the skin a break from makeup! Now that we are more rested, we have a bit more time to care of the skin. Taking a break from makeup allows the ingredients from our skincare routine to do their job. Without pigments clogging pores, the skin can oxygenate and even out. As a result, we notice we need less coverage– if any at all.
How do we make the most of these weeks without the constant aggressions from a dry office and a polluted commute?
We can surely make the most out of this challenging time because it gives us a break from all of the above. This means caring for our bodies from the inside-out and from the outside-in. In other words, it is an important time to stop and reflect on the marathons we have been running. Instead, create something new, different, interesting and better in every way. A stressed mind rules the body, as well as the body’s chemical and aging process! This is a time to reboot, restart, regenerate and recover. We don’t feel what we have been doing until we stop and actually realize the effects caused by stress!
As we have extra time on our hands, what would be the ideal daily routine to maintain healthy and nourished skin?
Everything starts with clean skin. It is important to properly cleanse (somedays double cleanse), exfoliate and mask daily. Give the skin a variety of nutrition that feels different and new all the time. A mix of proper chemistry matters.
I have so many favorites, one of which is a Forlle’d Regimen consisting of low molecule hyaluronic acid for deep absorption. The outcome is complete evenness and plumpness. Please see the below regimen. All products are from Forlle’d:
- Foaming Creamy Wash
- Peeling Lotion
- Refining Lotion
- Platinum Lotion
- P Effect Essence
- FH Essence Face Serum
- Platinum Essence
- Platinum Eye Cream
- Lift Cream or Platinum Cream
What products and tools can we still easily buy these days to create our own expert facial treatments?
Resurfacing agents:
- MBR’s Enzyme Boosters
- Valmont’s Face Exfoliant
- Biologique Recherche’s Lotion P50
- Augustinus Bader the Cream with retinol
Variety of masks:
- Biologique Recherche’s Vivant Masque for purification
- Valmont’s Collagen Mask for deep hydration
- Valmont’s Prime Renewing Pack for balance
- Biologique Recherche’s VIP 02 for oxygenation
Variety in skincare matters just the same as nutrition. The skin is a live organ and needs change as well as consistency!
My personal favorite tools:
- Biologique Recherche’s Silicon Facial Glove (very invigorating)
- Biologique Recherche’s Cryo-Sticks (anti-inflammatory)
- ReFa rollers (for drainage)
I also find that using my hands and massaging my face to stimulate blood flow is most essential!!
What are your top five survival tips for quarantine skincare?
- Exfoliate and mask.
- Apply layers and layers of serums, as well as a generous amount of lotions and potions.
- Get plenty of sleep to regenerate from all the stress we are exposed to.
- Meditate to balance our minds, body and chemistry.
- Practice self-care and kindness in every aspect of being. Indulge in lots of laughter, as it creates great chemicals in the brain. A laugh is something we all need when the world needs us all to rise up and show our beauty from the inside and out!
