Paraiso Verde

A gem where one can reconnect with nature, enjoy the endless beach, the waves for surf, yoga classes healthy foods and more.

Some encounters leave a lasting impression. I got such an impression when I met recently with the wonderful Tereza Scharf.
A native Brazilian, Tereza has created Paraiso Verde, a unique place where one can follow a detox surrounded by the most beautiful nature.
The place is nestled in 60 hectares of Atlantic rainforest and along the most beautiful beaches of Bahia.
A gem where one can reconnect with nature, enjoy the endless beach, the waves for surf, yoga classes healthy foods and more.

BWB: Paraiso Verde is a unique place where one can follow a Detox Healing or Ayahuasca Healing.
Can you please tell us more about it?

Paraiso Verde is a piece of rainforest located between the river and the ocean, right bellow the equator.
As the land is sacred and holds a strong healing energy, I started organizing detox retreats for my family and friends.
From there it diversified to yoga, meditation or ayahuasca retreats for small groups of friends of friends.

Paraiso Verde

BWB: You have incredible knowledge in nutrition, aromatherapy and ayurvedic.
Can you please share with us how you use them during these detoxes?

When start a detox, I use hot water with lemon, chlorella oil pulling with tea tree oil, triphalla, several ayurvedic body work, like shirodarah, abyanga and steam among other treatments.

As for food,  I prepare lots of green juices, salads, mung beans, cilantro and ghee.
We also use lots of local teas that help on speeding up the  detox process.

To ease any kind of discomfort, we use several hydrosol sprays like rose, geranium and a mix of chamomile, geranium and marjoram that are sprayed on your bed to help you relax even deeper. We also give lots of loving and care.

I avoid most of regular cleaning supplies. I use lots of vinegar ( to clean wood, kitchen counter), alcohol, essential oils of lemon, tea tree, eucalyptus, grapefruit and lavender with a hint of ylang ylang.

BWB: At Paraiso Verde you have used natural materials and you also use very natural products to maintain the house.
Can you give us a few pieces of advice on what we should all do in our homes?

I avoid most of the regular cleaning supplies. I use a lot of vinegar ( to clean wood, kitchen counters), alcohol, essential oils of lemon, tea tree, eucalyptus, grapefruit and lavender with a hint of ylang ylang.
I also make air purifiers blends either to put in the humidifier or to spray in the house throughout the day.
