Green Kitchen Travels the new cookbook from the couple behind famous blog Green Kitchen Stories !
Bon Green Voyage: Around the World with “Green Kitchen Travels”
Though their picture-perfect life in Stockholm has foodies across the globe wishing they could move in with their adorable family, David Frenkiel and Luise Vindahl, the couple behind famed blog Green Kitchen Stories, much prefer le voyage.
After publishing a best-selling first cookbook, they rapidly continue down their path toward health, this time with two children in tow.
This book is a family vacation, a mouth-watering meal and a cultural potpourri in one. It features recipes for everyday cooking inspired by David and Luise’s adventures across the globe. Their recipes come from Bali and Sri Lanka, California, Spain, Portugal, Denmark and the Swedish countryside.
The food is simple, the ingredients are easy to find, everything is vegetarian, and most recipes are gluten-free or vegan.
They describe their eating style as “healthy, natural and green.” They add: “We have learned that the best way of eating well is not by forbidding ingredients. Instead, we try to have a balanced approach to food. Listening to our bodies’ needs makes more sense than setting up rules for what we can or cannot eat.” The book also includes tips for traveling with kids (note: you may want to adopt theirs since the book is packed with photos of the two adorable tots) and stunning photos of landscapes and delicious meals from all over the world.
While we’d love to jump into David and Luise’s suitcases as they head off on their summer getaway, here’s the next best thing, namely a selection of some of our favorite recipes from their cookbook.
While we’d love to jump into David and Luise’s suitcases as they head off on their summer getaway, here’s the next best thing, namely a selection of some of our favorite recipes from their cookbook. First, they take us on a trip to California with their “deluxe acai bowl,” then hop on over to Barcelona for an “August Market Cherry Salad” afterwards crossing the world to reach Thailand for some “No Noodle Pad Thai” and finishing off with a “Wild Berry Tart” from their native Scandinavia. All light and delicious, these summer recipes afford you a one-way ticket to tastiness and vibrant health.
Bon green voyage!
“Food truly is a language on its own and has opened doors and connected us with many fantastic people whom we never would have met otherwise (…) Food is not only our favorite part of a trip; it is also what we bring with us back home. When memories fade away and our skin turns pale again, we keep our adventures alive in our Stockholm kitchen. Herbs, flavors and scents bring back more vivid images than any photo ever could (…) Regardless of destination, the food has always been the most exciting adventure for us.”
-Xoxo David and Luise
