A Weekend with Gizele Oliveira

We sat down with Victoria’s Secret Angel Gizele Oliveira to learn more about her travel habits!

You might recognize this Brazilian beauty from Fashion Week’s glamorous runways, Maxim’s “Top 15 Brazilian Models You Need to Follow on Instagram,” or perhaps the glossy covers of Elle Brazil and L’Officiel Thailand. You may even remember her from one of the most tender moments in fashion when she helped a fallen angel in the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Her act of kindness showed the world that fierce and sexy go hand-in-hand with tenderness and camaraderie. We sat down with Gizele to get to know her and her travel secrets a little better! Be sure to also check out her wanderlust blog, “Gizele on the Go.”

Friday day-to-night look?

I usually just put on some red lipstick and then I’m ready for the night!

Weekend dinner plans?

I love eating Japanese or Italian food for weekend dinners!

Favorite homemade meal?

I don’t cook much, but if I do, it’s definitely scrambled eggs haha!

Saturday ritual?

Waking up late and enjoying the afternoon.

Sunday run or relax?

Relax by going to the movies.

Go-to beauty routine and favorite brands?

I love having a fresh face with just moisturizer and some lip balm. Those are my go-to weekend products. I love the Jack Black moisturizer and any lip balm! I always use different ones.

A cherished memory since you started modeling?

My first Vogue shoot in 2013 for Vogue India–I was so proud of myself. Another cherished memory is when I was cast to walk in the 2014 Dolce & Gabbana show. It was my first big show and I had always dreamed of walking in it. And of course, I cherish walking in both my first and second Victoria’s Secret fashion shows. Those are a few of my most memorable moments.

Favorite holiday destinations?

I love exploring the world, so I always try to visit places that I’ve never been to before. Doesn’t matter if it’s a beach, mountain or big city destination!

Travel essentials for a wintery weekend getaway?

Scarves, gloves, warm and comfortable boots, big jackets, and lots of hot chocolate!

Best way to spend the holidays in NYC?

Going ice skating in Central Park is the best, and it is so beautiful– especially when it’s snowing. The Christmas markets are also so cute! The best ones are in Union Square and Bryant Park!
