Valmont: Beehive Beauty and Sustainably Saving the World
At its core, Valmont and its products demonstrate a deeply meaningful appreciation for and an unwavering commitment to our environment.
In a world that buzzes with fuel-hungry traffic, endless carbon emissions and intensely contaminated waters, our seasons are no longer what they used to be. Climate change and man-made pollution gravely impact the survival rate of wildlife and organisms across the globe, including the 44 percent of bee colonies that did not survive the North American winter in 2016.
Like many other plants and animals that are currently suffering and endangered, bees are integral producers in our environment— providing us with key materials like honey, propolis and royal jelly, which are rich in health benefits, moisturizing agents, and anti-aging properties. You may be wondering how we can continue to reap these nourishing benefits while safely promoting bee survival—
Enter Valmont.
Sourcing all of their lush ingredients from the exquisitely frosted mountains of Switzerland, Valmont knows the value in appreciating the beauty and bounty of the physical world while sustainably extracting valuable resources from the natural landscape. Since 1985, their anti-aging philosophies have been deeply rooted in cellular biology and the environment, tracing back to the very first seeds of existence: DNA and RNA.
Valmont’s extensive research into the interaction between harmful free radicals of environmental pollutants and individual skin cells led them to formulate four world-class luxury cosmetic and fragrance brands, including the iconic anti-aging skincare brand l’Elixir des Glaciers. With active ingredients such as patented DNA and liposomed RNA that help to mimic our internal biology, in addition to pure ingredients like rosa moschata and sea buckthorn, Valmont’s products deliver highly concentrated and effective skin treatments designed to help combat the aggressive aging process.
At its core, Valmont has a deeply meaningful appreciation for the environment, drawing not only raw resources but inspiration from the fruitful landscape of the Swiss Alps and the world at large. The delicate and graceful arcs and movements of the butterfly and its miraculous metamorphosis provide the foundation for the pace and healing trajectories of the brand’s skin treatments. Now their skin treatments are being enriched with yet another airborne, awe-inspiring creature: the bee.
Last September, Valmont introduced Essence of Bees to their luxury skincare brand l’Elixir des Glaciers, featuring a dynamic trio of products: Cure Majestueuse Votre Visage, Masque Majestueuse Votre Visage, and Sérum Majestueuse Vos Yeux. In order to cultivate and build upon this collection, Valmont has personally invested in 50 local bee hives throughout Switzerland— you can meet one of these local beekeepers, Stéphanie Vuadens, here— in addition to nourishing bees in the Alps and Jura mountains with glacier water and diverse flora indigenous to the Alps. The results are happy, thriving colonies, a humanely sourced wealth of honey, propolis & royal jelly, and a lifetime of healthy, youthful-looking skin.
So while you are nourishing and repairing your skin with the silky nectar and honey serums of the highly preserved and protected colonies of Swiss Alp bees, Valmont is busy partnering with Pollinator Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and promotion of bees and bee ecosystems. If you’ve happened to purchase a product from the Essence of Bees line, you should know that Valmont donated $10 to Pollinator Partnership for each item purchased.
Valmont’s passionate environmental activism does not end here. In addition to educating and raising awareness about the endangerment of North American honeybees, Foundation Valmont has also dedicated the months of October and November to their partnership with One Drop, an international non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable clean water initiatives. This partnership formed in light of the foundation’s first American art exhibition in New York City, The Elegant Symmetry of the Gorilla. In addition to donating the sales of two artworks from the exhibition, Valmont will also donate $10 to One Drop for every purchase made at Saks Fifth Avenue New York or Spa Valmont at Plaza Athénée NYC.
Show your support for Valmont and their endeavors for international water access, invest in sustainable beauty, and make sure to care for the planet around you while you are caring for yourself.
