BWB’s Top 6 Beauty and Wellness Goods for the Entire Family

Fill your home with these tried-and-true products for a healthy mind, body and spirit.

Summer is just around the bend and there’s no better time to fill your home with a fresh set of beauty and wellness goods. Note to self: new season, new essentials. Before filling up the precious space on your vanity and bathroom counter, check out some of these tried-and-true products for every member of the family—from babies and children to adults alike. No matter the age, everyone’s skin could use some TLC.

After speaking with Parisian New Yorker Mélanie Bouvard, a dear friend of BWB, we’ve included a few of her recommendations into the mix. A brand new mother to a baby girl named Margaux and an official of the UN Department for Political Affairs, Bouvard believes in holistic living: a combination of a healthy diet, exercise, and lots of beauty and wellness products. This season, toast to health with these family-friendly picks.

Kure Bazaar: Nail Polish

For all the mothers-to-be out there, pampering yourself—especially during pregnancy—is the perfect way to feel great and happy throughout the process. Bouvard notes that getting a mani-pedi is one way to reclaim that much-needed “me” time. She says, “I love the ‘Juicy’ [shade] during the summer for hands and feet, and ‘Chérie’ during the winter!” Kure Bazaar believes in the philosophy of healthy nails, so their eco-natural formula lasts impressively long, dries quickly, and is shiny to boot.

Aura Cacia: Sweet Almond Skin Care Oil

This magic bottle can be used in countless ways. Bouvard notes, “I use sweet almond oil on Margaux after a bath to moisturize and prevent any redness, as baby skin is very delicate and can often become dry.” For men, this product makes for a great aftershave due to the skin-nourishing fatty acids, lipids, and Vitamin E. As for mothers and mothers-to-be, it helps prevent stretch marks and skin redness from breastfeeding. Bouvard adds, “I am still using it now as a night serum on the face!”

Lano: Face Base Gelcream Glycerin Cleanser

The Australian brand known for its hero product, the 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm, recently debuted its new Face Base collection. The key ingredient from all of Lano’s products is lanolin, which is a super-moisturizing and soft-to-the-touch substance naturally found on sheep wool. Don’t worry–the process of sourcing lanolin is cruelty-free, as sheep’s wool grows continuously and must be sheared annually to prevent from becoming soiled. Lanolin is the byproduct of the process, and it is significantly moisturizing. The gentle Gelcream Cleanser keeps the skin pH balanced thanks to the citric acid and hydrated thanks to—yes—lanolin, and glycerin, too. Use it with the other stars of the collection: The Vitamin E Day Cream and the Aussie Flyer Leave-On Recovery Mask.

Dr. Barbara Sturm: Baby & Kids Hair and Body Shampoo

Babies have ultra-delicate skin, which is why dermatologically-tested products that are free of irritants are so important. When it comes to washing your little one’s itty-bitty hairs, try the hair and body shampoo from Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Baby & Kids Mini Molecular collection. Core ingredients of the clear, lightweight formula include almond blossom extract to keep rashes at bay and jojoba oil to seal in moisture. Lather, rinse, and repeat if you wish—and who can resist the adorable penguin illustration on the bottle?

Petite Vignone: Superstar Twin Sheet Set

“For Margaux’s sweet nights, we love the soft and chic bedding from Petite Vignone,” says Bouvard. Feel the texture of the sheets and be amazed! This 217-thread count Percale set is made with 100 percent cotton, grown and harvested in the United States. The subtle yet fun star design in a neutral color is perfect for girls or boys, and also makes a wonderful baby shower present. It’s all in the details; high-quality bedding can help your child doze off in a comfortable bliss.

Chantecaille: Bébé Camellia and Lavender Balm

This soothing, all-purpose balm melts onto the skin, leaving it silky smooth with Tamanu and Camellia oils. Plus, Boswellia serrata extract helps calm, soothe, and reduce redness & itching. Perfect for every member of the family, this pocket-sized product is an easy solution to moisturize cheeks, dry lips, cuticles, or chapped hands. Every item from the Chantecaille Bébé skincare line uses only certified organic, botanical, and plant-based ingredients. And there’s more– it’s free of gluten, soy, dairy, parabens, synthetic fragrances, and dyes. Use it from head-to-toe!
