Our Favorite Body Creams to Combat Dry Winter Skin

Cozy up with BWB’s favorite selection of body creams!

Winter is upon us and our skin is feeling the effects of the cold. Loss of humidity in the air causes water in our skin to evaporate very quickly, resulting in dry skin all over our bodies. There are steps we can take to combat dry skin in the winter.  This season, BWB has selected 6 favorite body moisturizers that will ensure soft, healthy skin, even in the middle of winter.

___________

L’Occitane En Provence’s Ultra Rich Body Cream is comprised of 25% Shea Butter that is sustainable and fair trade resourced. Shea butter is high in Vitamin A & E and is known for its exceptional healing powers for eczema, dermatitis and even frostbite! It is comforting and relieves dry skin immediately.

Ellis Brooklyn was created by Bee Shapiro, the beauty columnist for the New York Times. This cream gives us a luxurious but determined moisturizer for dry skin with her Excellent Body Milk. It is 97% natural, 52% organic and includes ingredients such as rosehip, camellia, and meadowfoam oils. The notes of mandarin, peony and patchouli add to its alluring fragrance throughout the day, leaving your skin soft and sexy.

Eau Thermale Avène continues to be a leader in solving skin sensitivities. When it comes to combating dry winter skin, they do not disappoint. Their Cold Cream Ultra Rich Cleansing Gel will not strip skin of its natural oils, and is gentle enough for a baby. Pure white beeswax and Avène Thermal Spring Water actually moisturize while cleansing the skin. Follow with the Cold Cream Nourishing Body Lotion, which nourishes the skin with safflower, coconut and sesame oils, their thermal spring water, and pure white beeswax.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic, a UK brand that committed to sustainability, has produced a dreamy Beauty Sleep Body Butter. Their very impressive list of ingredients includes organic sunflower seed oil, shea butter, cocoa seed butter, beeswax, cypress leaf oil, clary sage flower and ylang ylang flower oil, just to name a few. Your skin will wake up feeling rested, refreshed, and nourished.

KORA Organics’s Noni Glow Body Balm is designed in a solid stick form, making it perfect for on the go applying. Certified organic noni extract, derived from the rejuvenating noni fruit, coconut oil and cupuacu butter get rid of dull, dry skin. It leaves a beautiful glow wherever you apply it, making your skin reminiscent of summer.

Oribe Cote d’Azur Restorative Body Creme will transport you to Cannes, France with it’s romantic scent. It will transform your skin with it’s exceptional ingredients. A combination sweet almond, meadowfoam and starflower oils, sodium hyaluronate and shea butter, soften skin and lock in moisture. Aloe, jojoba, olive and grapeseed oils, heal and replenish winter skin, making it French Rivera worthy. Not to be missed is the new Cote d’Azur Nourishing Hand Cream, which shares many of the same ingredients and will save your hands through the harsh winter months.

This winter, in addition to this BWB-approved moisturizing routine, take baths and showers in lukewarm water and make sure to use mild, sulfate free, moisturizing cleansing gels that do not strip the skin of its natural oils. Also, make sure to moisturize every morning and evening with ingredients that hydrate, soothe, and help prevent water loss. This will strengthen the protective barrier of your epidermis, ultimately shielding your skin from cold, harsh environments.

With these great body moisturizers, you can win the battle against dry winter skin and show off supple, glowing skin year round.
