The shortened version of Michael Pollan’s book “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” is not only great for teens but it will also appeal to adults with little time on their hands interested on the subject.
In this “must read”, Michel Pollan becomes a journalist and ‘supermarket detective’ telling us about the foods we eat every day: whether it is processed food or if it comes from large organic farms, small farms, etc.
He brings us all the information necessary in order to take control over our dietary habits.
The organic food in stores like Whole Foods is organic because it is grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Yet much of it is also industrial. M.P
His book has certainly influenced me greatly and I recommend it as the perfect ‘family’ book that can be read by all generations.
The picture in my head, of small family farms with white picket fences and red barns and happy animals on green pastures, was seriously out of date. M.P
