During the summer months, our mermaid impulses are at their strongest. We want long, textured waves in our hair, we want bright vibrant colors in our wardrobe, and we want dewy skin that shimmers and basks in the lovely sunshine. Luxury Glow Body Oil
First up is a product that is a classic signature of RODIN: the luxury body oil. The fusion of French Sea Kelp and South India Sambac smells distinctly like fresh flowers, and the natural aroma seamlessly melts into the pores of your skin. The oil is stratified into bands of yellow, clear, and teal in order to resemble layers of the ocean. Although you may not want to ruin the layers, make sure to shake the bottle before application— the color of the oil only turns seafoam green temporarily— and massage gently into your skin. RODIN suggests to apply the oil after a shower or bath, but I also like to lightly pat this onto my face and décolleté before applying my makeup in the morning as it leaves my skin feeling awake and rejuvenated.
Luxury Illuminating Liquid
In line with RODIN’s aim to formulate lightweight makeup, the illuminating liquid is a gentle, light-reflecting product that helps achieve a bronzey summer glow wherever the sun will shine most. I like to layer this on top of a matte foundation because I have oily skin, but it can also be worn by itself— especially if you’re looking for a low-maintenance, natural shine at the beach or on vacation.
Luxury Lip Oil
With a pinch of sparkle and lots of natural, nourishing ingredients— vitamin E, jojoba oil, sunflower oil and safflower seed oil, just to name a few— the luxury lip oil is a silky gloss that leaves your lips feeling hydrated and luscious. The nude color is relatively transparent, so I like to pair it with a rosy lipstick or lip tint to animate the shimmer. It is also a great product to use on its own for a simple, glossy shine— but the oil is generously thick, so you don’t need much of it to have supple mermaid lips all day long.
Luxury Illuminating Powder
If you only have room for one beauty product in your travel bag this summer, please bring this— and the RODIN Luxury Kabuki Brush for application, if you can squeeze it in. I use the powder as a gentle face highlight, as it’s not as dense or metallic-looking as many highlights tend to be. The peachy powder has subtle pockets of pearl and light pink, giving your cheekbones a pale rouge and tasteful sparkle. I use the Kabuki Brush for more than just applying this powder, because the soft but firm compact design makes it perfect for seamlessly blending all kinds of face powders. Just be sure to clean your Kabuki brush at least once a week with warm water and soap.
